Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is an agreement concluded between two or more parties that reflects their mutual understanding regarding a partnership or a particular project. This document outlines the shared intentions, expectations, and responsibilities of the parties involved, and serves as a framework for cooperation and negotiation. It does not entail any financial obligations. The MoU is signed by the University President and his counterpart from the international entity, or by their authorized representatives.
Cooperation Agreement
A cooperation agreement is a non‑binding official document concluded between the University and an international entity. The agreement serves as an authorization to initiate work between the parties toward establishing binding contracts related to specific collaborative activities. The cooperation agreement is signed by the University President and his counterpart from the international entity, or by their authorized representatives.
Service Contract
A service contract is an official and binding document concluded between the University and an independent international entity or a governmental body that may have a memorandum of understanding with the University. Under this contract, specific services are provided or exchanged for the benefit of a college, deanship, institute, or center at the University in one or more areas covered by the memorandum of understanding. The contract outlines the details of the work to be carried out, the personnel involved from both parties, the financial cost, the implementation period, and the expected deliverables. The contract is signed by the University President and his counterpart from the international entity, or by their authorized representatives.
Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
It is an agreement in which one party agrees not to disclose any information covered by the agreement, such as confidential material, knowledge, or information to third parties. Also Known As: Confidentiality Agreement (CA).
Letter of Intent (LoI)
A Letter of Intent is an official document that expresses the preliminary interest of one or more parties in entering negotiations or exploring the possibility of collaboration on a specific project or activity. It outlines the key intentions and the general direction of the proposed cooperation without creating any legal or financial obligations. It serves as an initial step prior to signing future binding agreements or contracts.
Addendum / Annex / Amendment
A document used to supplement or modify an existing agreement. An amendment alters or updates terms already included in the agreement, whereas an addendum or annex is used to add new details, documents, or attachments without changing the original terms.
